e-Invoice Software for Malaysian Businesses
Before you buy anything: under RM1 million turnover you are exempt, and LHDN's free MyInvois portal may already be enough. Start there.
GreatRise implements e-Invoice-ready accounting software and builds MyInvois API integrations for systems that cannot be replaced — from Kuching, since 2009. Two of the three routes on this page cost nothing, and we will say so when one of them fits you.
Where e-Invoice Hurts Day to Day
Invoices are raised in your accounting system, then keyed a second time into the MyInvois portal.
A submission gets rejected, nobody notices, and the customer chases a validated invoice weeks later.
You are not sure whether your current software version actually supports the MyInvois API.
A vendor is pressing you to buy, and you are not even certain the mandate applies to you.
Credit notes and self-billed invoices are handled outside the system, on trust.
What the Right Setup Changes
The whole job is getting a validated e-Invoice back from LHDN without anyone doing the same work twice. Every route on this page is judged against that.

First: Check Whether You Need Software at All
Every result on this search wants to sell you something, so start with the two facts that cost nothing. First, businesses with annual turnover under RM1 million are exempt from e-Invoice entirely — no phase, no deadline. Second, for businesses that are in scope, LHDN's own MyInvois portal is free and legally sufficient. Software exists to remove the manual keying, not to make you compliant.
All four implementation phases have now started, so if your turnover is above RM1 million you are already in scope today. The bands, the dates, and the exemption are worked through in plain language in our e-Invoice exemption and timeline guide, and the authoritative version is the official LHDN timeline — we last verified this page against it on 16 August 2026.
Three Routes to MyInvois Compliance
Three ways to comply, not one. We implement e-Invoice-ready accounting software and we build API integrations, so recommending the free portal when it genuinely covers you costs us nothing — that is what makes the comparison worth reading.
| Route | Fits when | Where it runs out | Cost shape |
|---|---|---|---|
| The free MyInvois portal | Low invoice volume and simple billing. Legally sufficient on its own. | Every invoice is keyed by hand, so volume turns it into a daily job — and rejections are only caught by whoever remembers to look. | Free. |
| e-Invoice-ready accounting software | You want invoicing, accounts, and compliance in one system, with the vendor maintaining it as LHDN rules move. | Your operational systems — POS, ERP, job costing — still have to feed it, or staff re-enter sales all over again. | Licence or subscription, quoted on your modules and users. |
| MyInvois API integration into your existing system | You already run an ERP, POS, or custom system that cannot sensibly be replaced. | It is a project, not a purchase — field mapping, sandbox testing, and rejection handling have to be built once, properly. | Fixed-scope integration work, quoted in writing. |
What e-Invoice Software Has to Handle
Whichever route you take, these are the functions that decide whether the setup survives contact with real billing. A route that is weak on more than two of them is the wrong route for you.
The Accounting Software We Implement
GreatRise is a certified partner for Biztrak MSB (Edition 17.0 and later) and Biztrak Online, both LHDN MyInvois e-Invoice compliant. MSB is the on-premise accounting and ERP line; Online is the cloud product built around e-Invoice workflows from the start.
Partner, in practice, means the part that decides whether compliance actually works: setup against your chart of accounts, MyInvois configuration, sandbox testing before go-live, staff training in English, Malay, or Chinese, and support from Kuching afterwards — onsite across Sarawak, remote for the rest of Malaysia.
Already running other accounting software? Most current Malaysian packages have released e-Invoice updates. Before replacing anything, check your version against your vendor's compliance notes — switching on what you already own is often the cheapest route of all.
Connecting an Existing System to MyInvois
The businesses that struggle most with e-Invoice are rarely the ones on a standard accounting package. They are the ones invoicing out of an older ERP, a POS, a job-costing system, or custom software the business runs on and cannot simply replace.
For those, we build the integration layer: your system keeps raising invoices exactly as it does today, the middleware maps them to the MyInvois format, submits through the API, brings the validated identifier and QR code back, and queues anything LHDN rejects. Everything is tested in the LHDN sandbox before a single production invoice moves.
This is priced as fixed-scope sprints, typically RM 8,000–15,000 for a 2–3 week implementation, with the quotation in writing before development starts.
When You Should Not Buy e-Invoice Software
The disqualifiers we apply before quoting. If one of these is you, we will say so on the call rather than write a proposal.
Not sure the mandate even applies to you?
Tell us your turnover band and how many invoices you raise a month. That settles the route in one call — and when the answer is "spend nothing yet", that is what we will say.

How We Get You Compliant
Assess
Confirm whether the mandate applies to you at all, then which of the three routes fits — before any quotation.
Configure or Build
Set up the accounting software, or design and build the API integration around the system you already run.
Test in Sandbox
Sample invoices, credit notes, and rejection cases through the LHDN sandbox until the flow holds.
Go Live & Support
Production cutover with the first submissions watched, staff trained, and long-term support from Kuching.

e-Invoice Software FAQ
Possibly none. If your annual turnover is under RM1 million you are exempt, and if you issue only a few invoices a month, LHDN's free MyInvois portal is legally sufficient on its own. Beyond that, the choice is between e-Invoice-ready accounting software such as Biztrak, or an API integration that connects the system you already invoice from to MyInvois. The right answer follows your invoice volume and the systems you already run — not a product catalogue.
It can be. The portal is LHDN's own web interface and satisfies the mandate on its own. Every invoice is keyed manually, so it suits low volume and simple billing. Once invoicing becomes a daily task — or a rejection slips past unnoticed and a customer is left chasing a validated invoice — the manual step is exactly what software exists to remove.
No. Businesses with annual turnover below RM1,000,000 are exempt from the e-Invoice mandate entirely — the threshold was doubled from RM500,000 in December 2025, and many guides still quote the old figure. Two cautions: larger customers may still request compliant invoices or issue self-billed e-Invoices on your behalf, and if you are close to the line it is worth choosing e-Invoice-capable software at your next natural upgrade rather than migrating under pressure later.
Most current Malaysian accounting packages have shipped e-Invoice support, so the real question is whether your specific version has it and whether it is configured. We implement Biztrak MSB (Edition 17.0 and later) and Biztrak Online, both LHDN MyInvois compliant, and as part of an assessment we check other systems' versions against the vendor's compliance notes rather than assuming.
Yes, through the MyInvois API. We build a middleware layer that maps your invoices to the required format, submits them, stores the validated identifier and QR code against the original record, and queues rejections for correction — while your team keeps working in the system they already know. This is the usual route when the invoicing system cannot sensibly be replaced.
The MyInvois portal is free. Accounting software is licensed or subscribed through the vendor and quoted on your modules and user count — we do not publish a single price because those genuinely move it. API integration into an existing system is priced as fixed-scope sprints, typically RM 8,000–15,000 for a 2–3 week implementation, quoted in writing before work starts.
For Biztrak, a typical e-Invoice configuration takes three to five business days, including testing in the LHDN sandbox and go-live validation — the platform connects to MyInvois natively. A custom API integration is a 2–3 week fixed-scope project, because field mapping, rejection handling, and sandbox testing are built around your system rather than switched on.
Yes — all three are inside the mandate, and they are where manual processes usually break first. Whichever route you take, we test these document types in the sandbox before go-live rather than discovering them in production.
Yes. Onsite across Sarawak — Kuching, Sibu, Miri, and Bintulu — and remote for Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia, in English, Malay, and Chinese. Support continues after go-live rather than ending at handover.
